Some positive things

I need to remember to look at the good stuff that’s going on right now, so here’s some good things.1

The new 3D printer is a lot of fun. I still haven’t managed to get it outputting quite as good results as my old one (as measured by the Kickstarter-Autodesk test) and there’s still a lot of tweaking to do to find a reasonable quality-speed tradeoff, but I’m having a lot of fun doing it. I also ordered a Palette which should supposedly be arriving Wednesday and I have a lot of ideas for things to do with it, once I figure out how to best work with the software.

Yesterday my monthly smol games meetup still happened, although there were only three of us (with a few voice chatting in) and the bookstore was mostly empty. Even though we were only there for around two hours it sure felt like we were together a lot longer than that, which tells me that it was an eminently savorable experience.

Today for lunch I made a tuna and chickpea salad which turned out pretty nice.

The last few Steven Universe episodes have been great, and it’s so nice to see things going on a more positive trajectory now after the first half of the season. I’m excited to see where this is going and how the show is going to end (again).

Also there’s been some hints that while Steven Universe itself is ending (for reals this time) that doesn’t mean the show’s universe (the Steven Universe universe?) is over with. I hope this means there will be other series set there, like I really want there to be a Lars of the Stars series, or a Beach City/Little Homeworld anthology, or even a spinoff that follows Sadie and Shep on their musical adventures.

I was planning on driving to one of the many lovely larger parks and taking a hike today. I was feeling too under the weather to do so but I will hopefully do it next weekend. I’ve also finally convinced myself that it’s totally okay (and perhaps imperative) to start taking my daily 2 PM walks again. Even if I don’t take them until 4 PM. As I am about to do.

Anyway. Hopefully I’ll have more positive things to talk about. Maybe I’ll even feel like working on comics and music again.
