CafePress: Scam (announcement)

Just got this message from them.
Lovely. Good thing they're only about to bilk me out of $1.50 (like it costs them anything to maintain the positive balance or something); I wonder how many people have repeatedly lost $24.50 because of this. From: "CafePress.com"To: [xxx] Subject: Notice regarding your CafePress.com account Date: 29 May 2003 12:06:07 PDT Reply-To: "CafePress.com" Hi! You currently have commissions due to you from your CafePress.com account, but we are unable to pay them as you have earned under the minimum payment threshold of $25 or have not provided us with your payment information. Your account has held a positive balance for over 150 days. According to our Member Agreement, we will only hold balances for 180 days before a monthly account maintenance fee of $25 is imposed on an account. This email is to notify you that your account will be charged the $25 monthly maintenance fee beginning July 1, 2003. If you have less than $25 credit in your account, your account balance will be made $0. Please note that if you have earned under the $25 minimum payment threshold, you can spend your earnings by using CafeCash to purchase products on CafePress.com. Oh well. I've been wanting to get an "i can see you" hat and a recursive shirt for a while, and so I'd might as well use that $1.50 to make it not cost quite so stupidly much. And, on the other hand, CafePress' prices are way too freaking high anyway (especially for their products' quality), so I think I'll just kill my account with them anyway.
Also, the way it's worded, it sounds like starting in July, they'll start to skim off $25 of my commissions every month. So, I'll look elsewhere to handle my merchandise needs or lack thereof.

Definite scam.
It's your money, if they can't handle dishing out less than $25 a pop, they should get the hell out of the business.
Yeah. Especially since they make money on the little odds and ends of pending balances which they can't distribute anyway.
This is the same sort of crap which pissed me off about mp3.com too.
Google did the same thing when they had the affiliate program. Hell, if I was to get in a business where I was storing some type of affiliate revenue I would at the very least put a $1 transaction fee on any withdrawals below a threshold value (probably somewhere between $10 and $25).
The other stuff is just plain scammy...
Look at the 'Badly Drawn Kitties' news entry for May 30, 2003. It's a similar complaint about 'CafePress'.
