Yatta? (rant)

Apparently, "yatta" isn't just guys dancing around in fig leaves — it also refers to a Beowulf cluster designed specifically for running Folding@Home.
But what's the point?
I mean, why are all these overclocking kiddies building impressive server farms (which take a lot of expensive electricity) for the whole point of getting a bigger number on their F@H team stats? The systems are so dedicated-purpose that they can only be used for these distributed network projects (since they're diskless they can't even be used as effective render farms, for example). But I somehow doubt that the people who are so gung-ho about boosting their rates actually care about the projects they're contributing to...
It just seems rather dumb.
And also: Yatta? Why not call it AYBABTU or GOOOOALLLLL or I KISS YOU or something less stupid like, say, Beowulf?
