Corporate culture (, )

by fluffy at 2:09 PM
Ah, The Onion has put to words exactly what was in the back of my mind, bothering me about CTC's corporate culture.

Of course, it's all moot now anyway. Still, it's nice to have a tangible expression of the lingering doubts.

Specifically, the whole lunch-scheduling thing was right out of CTC's book, and that last little bit on the "crazy shoe day" just clicked, since when I interviewed there, they were having a "denim day."

Geez. I guess that just must become the default modus operandi when you have lots of self-important people in one small area. Even the military is like that (although the military takes itself much more seriously, or likes to think it does). It was worse at my last command, which was 50+% corporate types (including my dept. head, who was the very epitome of the PHB archetype), though even here, the XO lives for that kind of stupidity. Just loves it: makes for great public image, don'cha know?

Foo on corporate culture...

I must not anonymously send that to the "suggestion" email address. I repeat, I must not anonymously send that to the "suggestion" email address. Dammit.
I know I'm going to do it, I just don't know when...
