Mentions the Nintendo cereal. I get blank looks when I mention that marketing tie-in.

NINTENDO: IT'S FOR BREAKFAST NOW!
NINTENDO: IT'S A CEREAL, WOW!

Kids cereal reached it's apex, circa 1990 (as did cartoons, coincidentally). I still remember Dinersaurs and Dunkin Donuts cereals...

I don't remember Dinersaurs, but Dunkin Donuts was one of the many cereals my mom would never, ever, EVER let me or my siblings have. I'm surprised she ever got us the Nintendo cereal. Once.

All three cereals named in my above post were from Ralston-Purina. I'm sort of ashamed that I remember that fact...

I enjoyed reading that.

Honest question: are you seeking to poke fun at people who force their own ideas onto literature or at everyone who studies it?
