Plaidophile

A Whole Lotta Nothing had a little bit about DJ Danger Mouse — The Grey Album. From the New Yorker article I was interested enough to download preview a few tracks, and can't help but think that this is just an ill-conceived publicity stunt.

The mixing was atrocious. The Beatles parts were mixed way too high, while the Jay-Z parts were mixed way too low. The Beatles parts weren't very masterfully-assembled, and instead were just horrifically incompetently-looped parts of various Beatles songs, which were just mashed up and crappy.

The concept is amusing enough, but the execution is just crap.

Ugh.
