The selling of the couch ()

by fluffy at 12:38 AM
So, English-name-is-Natalie came to buy the couch today. She took one look at it, and said...

"You said it was a plain color," she said, pointing at the neutral-gray couch.

"It is a plain color. It's grey," I said.

"It's a pattern."

"Yes, it's a muted, subtle grey pattern."

"Well then," she said, as she left.

Ten minutes later, one of the other grad students in the CS department came over to see it, and immediately fell in love with it, and was more than happy to pay my full asking price.

So there.

What an ignorant bitch(Yes, I'm in one of those moods..My monitor died last night)! You wouldn't have wanted to do business with someone like that anyway. She's the type who will sit there and whine about the asking price until you agree to give it up for half that. Then she'll try to convince you to let her pay you when her paycheck comes in next Friday.

Thanks but no thanks. The CS guy will appreciate it more anyway. =)

No, really! Her name is Mia. She's French.

And then when she doespay for it, she would have called a week later wanting to return it. Thank God for female CS students from France.

BTW, one thing I neglected to mention, but which Ali said makes a huge difference, is that Her-English-Name-Is-Natalie is at least in her 50s. (Dr. H is 80-something.) So she's not a 20-year-old ditz — she's a 20-year-old ditz who never grew out of it.
