I'm in Portland (job stuff, travels)
Anyway. Intel has put me in an exceedingly swanky hotel downtown, which is so swanky that the only parking is valet service. They sure better be paying for that.
It's one of those really evil hotels which has a "private bar" where it's just a bag of snacks and so on sitting out on the table, with a little notice hidden in it saying "Taking any of these items will result in a bill to your room." Also hidden is a menu showing that it's, like, $5 for a little bag of chips and so on.
Also, the rental company gave me a free "upgrade" to a horribly big Buick SUV.
I really hate driving SUVs. Ugh.
Also, this place is swarming with Intel interviewees.
Also, this morning I got an exceedingly rude and terse email from Sandia telling me that "at this time, we are not offering you a job." I thought I'd made a better impression on them than that. Bleh.
