God damnit, doesn't ANYONE have ANY useful documentation for res_mkupdrec?!

And no, neither the manpage nor the source to nsupdate counts as "useful."

Also, WTF is with John's buddies (who he refers to as "business partners" so that he can take them out to lunch and claim a tax deduction) all talking like they're on Slashdot? Apparently I'm running "GayDE," not KDE as I previously thought.

It's also unhelpful that John needs me to work to my full potential even when I'm stuck in an unmotivated slump and while there's a huge loud discussion going on between him and his buddies. Of course, when he needs to get work done he goes into his office and slams the door, but when I need to work, I'm stuck out in the open area, where everyone else is "working" (meaning: talking shit about shit).

ARGH I fucking HATE this.

Have you tried asking if you can telecommute at least a couple days a week? He probably won't care as long as you get your work done, and I bet you're much more productive working from home.
