So, the complete game (which is now entitled "Hooked Up") needs to be done and submitted by October 1. There is no way we're getting done by then, and my motivation is currently in the toilet. Yay me.

Do most of the programmers agree that an October 1st deadline is impossible, or are you the sole voice of reason in a sea of optimism?

Everyone on the team thinks it's not possible. But the producer says it has to be.
This decision is from on high (meaning UbiSoft).

Haha
Welcome to the real world of software development.
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Don't worry, you'll basically go through the familiar 5 stages
Denial. "They can't be serious". Then: "It can't be this way everywhere".
Anger. "How the FUCK do those ASSHOLES expect me to do this!? "
Bargaining. "OK, I'm getting a handle on the politics, maybe I can use
my influence to get a realistic schedule for X"
Depression. "I just lost that pay rise because I used my limited influence
to get something done for the team instead"
Acceptance. "Hey guys, check out this Freecell streak!"
