Finally.

(Unfortunately, it was the build before I fixed that intermittent crash bug. Hopefully nobody will notice, though. And you can still play/win anyway. It just looks reallllly bad to have a game crash like that. Nintendo got their wires crossed with some things though.)

Actually, there's a few bugs which made it into the final game. But I guess for sanity's sake I'll just let other people find them and bitch about them, rather than let people know what to expect to cause weirdness.

So, I'm feeling pretty bummed about what should be a really happy occasion. Meh.

We've all learned a lot about the development process, too, and now I think we all know a lot of things to look out for, and things to do earlier on to try to prevent bugs from getting out of hand.

And, hey, not bad for the very first game done by a brand-new studio staffed entirely of a handful of people who have never made a commercial game before! So, I guess I'm pretty happy overall. :)

Bugs or no, it's pretty rare to get software finished on time. It can be pretty rare to get it finished at all some places

Goooooooo Fluffy!
#3797 10/27/2004 01:17 pm Go, Fluffy! Go!
I know that feeling all too well. When I was a developer, my only consolation was that we could put patches into the production environment. You can't do that for a console game.

Regardless, cheers to you and your efforts!

To celebrate, when I'm in New York next, I'll buy you lunch! Smile

Yeah. Though, like, nobody try to do any speed runs, 'coz that'll probably trigger the bug.

What you see as bugs, the game's fan base may well see as secret codes and the like.

Yeah, they're features, not bugs.

"Hooray I made the game crash"

"Yay it gave me a 'game over' for no apparent reason!"

Lol, nice features. Congrats fluffy.

At least the bugs won't be in the Europe version, though of course since the Europe version will probably have to be localized I'm sure there'll be a mess of other problems.
