The Internet is awesome ()

by fluffy at 9:24 AM
Last night I ordered half a case of wine off of woot. And I know that when I get back to my apartment in Seattle, my new Wacom tablet will be waiting for me. While I'm away I'm still able to listen to all of my music via my streaming media server, and chat with my coworkers over our internal IM service.

What do these things have in common?

INTERNET!

looking forward to hearing how good that wine is...

It used to be better. You can't get bubblegum delivered within the hour any more.

Actually, I'd say that last thing is more of an intRAnet. =P

Also, exactly how hard is it to order alcohol over the intertron?

It was not intranet though. I'm off-site!

Wine distribution varies by state. Woot could only deliver wine to 30 of the 50 states, and needed to get some special stuff going on to do it to some of them. Fortunately, Washington was one of them.

Will they actually leave it? We belonged to a "wine club" for a while but stopped because they wouldn't leave it without an adult present to take delivery, and we were never there.

I'm pretty sure my concierge is over 21.

Holy crap this Wacom is HUGE. I think I may have gotten a bit more than I needed. Very Happy

Which ended up not mattering, because the UPS guy won't leave it without proof that I am over 21. And I can't just leave a photocopy of my driver's license, I have to be present. Grargh.
