It's good to be home ()

by fluffy at 11:30 PM
Until United Airlines decides to start informing passengers about flight delays and gate changes rather than just silently ignoring a few dozen customers who want to know where/when their flight actually is, they are on my shitlist.

(Hm, I'm running out of airlines.)

For travel on the coast, Southwest is the only sane choice.

Yeah, I know. But that means flying into Oakland, which is a bit less convenient than SFO or SJC.

On the plus side, in Seattle, Southwest will soon be moving from SeaTac to Boeing Field, which is both cheaper and closer.

Southwest does fly into SFO and SJC, you know.

Damn terr'ists.

Heh. Not like that Razz

Oh, right, I forgot about them going to SJC. But it looks like their SFO service is via ATA, which means to go there I'd have to connect through Detroit. (Not terribly useful!)

Huh. While Oakland's their hub, I thought they had a lot of SFO flights. I flew more San Diego to SFO flights on Southwest than I care to remember. (30+ in one year)

Maybe it's a recent change. They only partnered with ATA like a year ago.

my wife had found this flight info site that wasn't an airline thing... i'll try to ask her what it was.
you could get a map showing where the plane was and everything, and i think it was for any airline.

Crap, I KNEW there was a reason I meant to not buy tickets on United this time around.

Sadly, all the airlines are pretty pathetic these days anyway, so I think my usual 'anyone but America West' rule still applies.
