Honestly, I have to agree with Vlad here. I think that kind of thing would be tough to figure out how to cook unless you already had something in mind.
But, that being said, I don't think that twenty-one bucks is extravagent, nor do I think that expanding your culinary horizons is a bad thing. You earn the money you make, don't feel bad about spending it.
Yummy, tastes like cruelty...
That said, I make a lot less than you, and I wouldn't balk at paying $20 for something I wanted to eat... That's less than my typical Friday night cider bill...
That comic reminds me of a fundraising letter we got from a group that wants to keep people from eating gorillas... Lots of stuff about how they're smart, and caring, and how it would be generally not-nice to eat them. But they're not asking the real question-
I loaded at your blog while sitting next to someone, who looked at it, read your title, and said "That's funny, because it's not even plaid. It doesn't have the little intricate lines in it".

Are they yummy?
Maybe more of us should be eating gorillas.
Wasn't implying that you were... It was actually the cilantro-ape ceviche in the comic that reminded me of it.
