Guitar upgrade (music)
by at 4:05 PM
I got tired of my crappy $80 Squier, so I decided to step up a little bit, and just got a new guitar (Epiphone Sheraton II, naural finish). Also, my microcube is okay for portable practice purposes but for stage and recording it's not very useful so I also bought a new amp (Marshall MG30DFX), which has a really awesome tone, and also a foot switch to switch between clean and distorted. Of course just a few days ago I bought a cheap/crappy distortion pedal, which I'll probably return since the distortion on this amp is way nicer, though the crappy pedal could be useful for vocal processing on the stage or something.
Now if only I could find a drummer so that Sockpuppet could become a real band (assuming Spud will play bass or keyboard for it).
Also, somewhat appropriately, my mom just sent me this email:
Going through the “Good Kids Drawer” Found a report you wrote on Music in the Middle Ages. Nobody could ever say that you copied stuff out of an encyclopedia. It’s really funny – right down to the lines about German yammering.:)“They didn’t classify the instruments by how they were played, but how LOUD or soft they were. In the loud part, we have an entrée cooked to perfection: trumpet, drum, bagpipes, shawms (not shawns) and those horns you get mooses to follow you with.”
You were a really funny kid.
