Octothorpe performing ()

by fluffy at 11:06 AM
Octothorpe (one of the bands I'm in) will be playing at Jillian's (at 731 Westlake Ave N in Seattle) as part of the Dept. of Records CD release party for "Drink To Bones That Turn To Dust," an Oingo Boingo tribute album.

The concert is at 8 PM on Saturday the 28th. Watch me spaz out on the drums or whatever.

Oingo Boingo has long been one of my favorite bands. How do I get a copy of the disc?

Ostensibly, you will be able to buy it somewhere after Saturday.

I'm not on the CD, by the way (the recording happened a few years ago).

Ugh, that was terrible. The only reason I hope it was recorded is so I can hunt down and destroy all the copies.

Sorry to hear that. I was looking forward to hearing it, if possible.

Oh, just the usual. Since we were just doing a mini-set the sound guy didn't bother to give us a decent mix so we couldn't hear each other, and we had a hard time staying together. I guess it wasn't all bad since the crowd still enjoyed it.
#7881 10/30/2006 09:13 am urgh
You've got to love shit like that. I'm betting that's why some bands either learn that stuff themselves, or hire people to do that stuff for them.

Taking into account the lack of a sound check, I would rate it at less than horrible. Sure, we couldn't hear each other. Sure, our levels were probably off. Sure, we got separated by a few beats from time to time. However, we blew through them, we snatched Skyline back from the brink of disaster without restarting, and we brought the rock, no doubt, like no one else. It's fucking Octothorpe, man. Not bad, considering. Sorry to spam your board with positivity. But you were spot on, if a tad fast, and you held us together. Be proud, not sorry.
