Plaidophile

So, last night I was at a party until about 4 AM. My friend Sean just moved to Seattle, having finally gotten his graduate degree in microbiology and subsequently a job, and so he had a housewarming party. He has a talent for making friends quickly, and the various people at his party (most of whom I'd just met, and most of whom he'd just met) were all pretty cool, though one of them seemed a bit clueless about how independent music works (she kept asking us if we were going to play at Sasquatch next year, and didn't understand that just because there's four stages doesn't mean we'd be appropriate for such a venue).

Anyway, we mostly chatted and played music and jammed and stuff. It was great fun. Though when I first got there I didn't notice a huge hole in the sidewalk (it was dark and rainy) and I stepped in it and so my left leg was wet and muddy all night, and I rather hurt my right knee. It was a pretty surreal thing which happened, too, and had the potential to be a lot suckier. Oh well, I survived more or less intact.

In any case, it's cool to have more people I know here. I think a big part of why I did so poorly in New York was that I only knew a few people there and I almost never saw any of them, while here I actually have a social life, and now it's not just Spud and John and their associated band of misfits.

I think I'm coming down with something. I've had a bad sore throat for a while and the signs of a sinus infection (though it hasn't gotten to the point that I feel that I need to see a doctor about it), and last night my lymph nodes were pretty sore. When I got up this morning afternoon I was also kinda sore all over. I hope it's not flu or mono or something. I guess I'm feeling too good for any of those to be the case at least.
