Tonight was a good night to be me at karaoke.
I seem to have become something of a local celebrity, "local" meaning "to the bar, on karaoke night, amongst the other regulars." Which is fine by me.
I now have a reputation for doing a disturbingly-good job of Britney Spears songs (such a guilty pleasure...) and of course my signature piece is Radiohead - Creep which I always nail the bridge on, and get a lot of cheering and stuff. It's a great ego-boost.
The great thing about karaoke is I think it's cured my performance anxiety. Also I've gotten a lot better at singing in front of an audience in general. Which is all part of why I decided to start doing it, and why I'm definitely going to keep doing it whenever I can.

Creep is one of my karaoke specialties, too-- it's a great song for it. Very cathartic (though it's kind of embarrassing to admit, I suppose). It's always sad for me doing karaoke in the US, because I can't break out the Japanese hip-hop I've got worked up.
