Religion is like technology. It does not change human nature, but it multiplies the power of human beings to do good or bad; and it multiplies the unintended consequences as well as the intended.
Whether you think either is good or bad depends on whether you think human beings are good or bad.
For me it is. Although it usually clash with science and other beliefs. Any form of religion as long as people practice it for their own personal improvement is always good. It does have is drawbacks but at the end it's up to us. Besides, humans are the ones who created religion.
