Plaidophile

Now I feel really bad that I haven't used Fred (my SIDstation) in a while, because the guy who designed it died in a car accident.

And right now Fred is in storage so it'll be a while before I can even use it en memoriam.

I just sent this email to their condolences address:

I am very sorry to hear about Daniel's passing. I have owned a SIDstation for years, and have always wanted to get the other Elektron synths as well. They are so well-engineered and fun to play with, and my SIDstation has always felt alive to me. (I even named it Fred and considered it an equal partner in the songs we composed together.)

No other synthesizer has ever evoked such feelings, and its creator will be sorely missed.
