Aggregate labels ()

by fluffy at 2:12 PM
Every now and then I'll do some random poking around of something which happens to be something I've mentioned on my weblog, and I'll come across some weblog-aggregation/community thing which syndicates my weblog for all the wrong reasons.

For example, while seeing if I could find any stats about my PSN profile, I came across an aggregator view of my announcement here.

The funny thing, of course, is where my weblog is categorized.

Clearly this was categorized by hand by someone quite some time ago, but even when my weblog was entitled "fluffy rants" (which, incidentally, this weblog still has the top Google hit for), I didn't really mention much about gender issues, especially not in a GLBT context. But for some reason, there are a lot of weblog aggregators out there which classify my weblog under GLBT (particularly the T) issues. It's always funny to compare my weblog with all the others being aggregated, too; my weblog is just a bunch of disconnected fluff written by someone who happens to be somewhat genderqueery (which is something I never even really mention except in my FAQ or if someone outright asks), and here it is always being presented along with dozens of weblogs which are actually focused on GLBT issues.

I wonder how many people come to my weblog expecting something different. I don't seem to get a lot of referrals from these aggregation sites, though, so there's that at least. I just have to wonder how I end up on them to begin with.

It's probably like the lyrics sites online - they all have the same errors in them - I suspect they were all copied from the same place, maybe in some sort of chain. Probably a single someone decided you talked about those issues then everybody else copied their list.
