CES 2008 (geekery, job stuff, travels)
by at 2:10 PM
So I'm going to CES in Las Vegas this year (to see what our competition is up to, not to be a booth babe or wahtever). As in, I'm sitting in the airport waiting for my delayed flight. The boarding area is getting crowded and pretty much everyone who is talking is talking about CES. I'm also a bit agoraphobic (especially in large crowds). This should be "fun."

If you have this much trouble handling the network load when every room is booked by a tech junkie, you might want to consider increasing your infrastructure, seeing as how in perhaps 5 years, EVERYONE will expect Internet access, not just borderline-autistic technophiles who care more about Internet than gambling.
Meanwhile, I'm online through my cellphone. Hooray.
also it seems a bit creepy that while I was out for dinner the turndown service showed up and very nicely folded the dirty laundry I had on the second bed.[/list]
This odor is unique. It is a mixture of despair, greed, avarice, and lust. 'Vegas is a stunning example of poorly spent money from almost every angle.
After a while the smell begins to get to you, permeates your skin and leaves you depressed and wondering: With all this, could we have not made a better world?
