New glasses (random)

Well, the new glasses finally arrived today. They look decent, but either they messed up the prescription or the eye doctor did, because they're way too strong. Meh. Considering how weak the prescription is, though, I have a hard time believing the doctor did the screwing-up.

Guess I'll be finding out how horrible the customer service is!

I had an eye doctor mess up the minor astigmatism on mine. Caused me issues for three years until a newer doctor caught it.

Well, the thing is that these days, the prescription-finding is pretty much automatic, since they have that machine which just projects an image onto your retina and wibbles it until it's in focus. The "which looks better, A or B?" part of the eye exam is now just for verifying that prescription, and they only go a couple of steps away from what the machine finds. I suppose it's possible that the machine was miscalibrated, but again, with a precription like -.25-.5x165/0-.25x015, I have a hard time believing that it'd be so incredibly overpowered. (Unfortunately I don't have my old prescription for reference, but the strongest term in that prescription is -.5, which is only two quanta away from plano.)
