I am getting old (random)
by at 11:37 PM
I just looked in the mirror and noticed that seemingly overnight a lot of my hair has turned gray. I've always had a few gray hairs here and there but suddenly I've had an explosion of it.
Apparently my maternal grandfather went completely gray at an early age (and I know my mom has had a lot of gray hair for a long time), so this isn't really unexpected. Still, it's a bit of a shock to realize how much my hair color has changed in the last year.
Actually, a bit more surprising is that when I just pulled my hair forward to look at more of it at once, I noticed that my hair is somewhat bi-tonal, with dark brown in front and various stripes of lighter browns in back. My pigmentation is more variegated than I realized!

I feel I have a very unfair combination of genes. My father's side of the family go grey early, but keep their hair. My mother's side of the family keep black hair for ages, but go bald early. I started going both bald and grey early. Bah.
As to the changing hair color, my facial hair and parts of my head are turning a brilliant white color. My beard, especially on the chin is decidedly salt-and-pepper.
While I'm happy that I don't have the "dull grey" look, I'm gonna look like fucking Santa Clause in 10 years. At lest I will be able to get a job at the mall then.
