Driving vs. bicycling (bicycle)
The not-particularly-amazing thing is that my commute by car actually took the same amount of time as my bicycle commute, and it was a lot more stressful. There was a lot more stuff to look out for (especially on the way home), and all the other traffic and the idiots double-parking had an even more profound impact on me in a car than on a bike.
And, to top it all off, when I got home at the end, some idiot was parked in my driveway (with emergency flashers so obviously he REALLY NEEDED TO for some reason), so I had to circle around the block so I could "safely" double-park in the right lane while waiting for the idiot to leave (instead of waiting in the left lane like an idiot).
On the plus side, at least I could listen to the radio, and since my sister's car has a fancy bluetooth thing I didn't have to just ignore my mom's usual badly-timed right-when-I'm-heading-home phonecall (someday she will understand that I am not accessible by phone at certain times).
On the minus side, the package was delayed for a day, so I get to do this all over again tomorrow. And I really hate driving.
