Album length ()

So, as soon as I released my first album I immediately started working on my second album, "foodsexsleep." It has gone through many complete revisions and restarts, and the one I started last year has so far proffered 10 songs with a total of 27.9 minutes. They are a very solid 30 minutes. But I feel like something's missing, and I also feel like albums should be a bit longer than that. 45 minutes seems to be the gold standard, but even shorter albums seem to be around 36 minutes or so.

I think if I can finish two more songs for it that fit into the little acoustic arc I have going, it will be perfect. I definitely need something between "Baby, Be Quiet" and "Night Terrors," and similarly it seems like there should be something after "House In My Head."

I have a big list of songs I've wanted to redo for foodsexsleep, but I don't really feel like bringing any of them together. Most of them simply don't fit into the feel of the album, or are frankly kind of dumb songs. I feel like any of the ones on my list would just be shoved in as filler and I don't want that.

If I were to buy an album which were only 27.9 minutes I'd feel a bit ripped off. I also want to do this as a full pressed CD and that means I need to make it worth my while to do that (yes of course I'll do digital distribution too, but there's something about a physical disc which makes a huge difference).

Maybe I'll work on the album art and something will occur to me.

what about the <3 songs? are they on the album? i think they were some of your best-reviewed, right?
not sure what continuity/tracks you're working with these days.

"Don't Think" and "In The Desert" are going on. I can't really figure out how to make the others Sockpuppety enough. I wanted to do Rhymes With Lucia but it's the <3 vocal treatment which makes it work, and I can't seem to make a more downtempo version come together, but maybe I'm trying too hard. It's sort of in that state where I know how I want it to sound and because I can't get it to do that right away I get frustrated.
