Accumulated travel achievements (, )

by fluffy at 2:35 PM

If you follow me on Twitter you probably saw some of these get posted when I "earned" them:

There's a lot of other stuff I should have granted myself achievements for, such as going to the cow-mooing meadow (drink a bottle of Skal) and having a temporary Groundhog Day loop, and perhaps one for being an intense shutterbug.

Oh, and after this week I'm a lot better at reading kana. I'm maybe at a two-year-old level now.

What'd you eat at the Japanese McDonald's?

The first time, a Double Quarter Pounder with Cheese, which was just like the US version except significantly less salty. The second time, an abomination of not-quite-Sausage McMuffin, where instead of an English muffin it was on a pair of overly-sweet pancakes (and still had cheese).

That doesn't sound significantly more disgusting than the American McDonald's practice of pouring maple syrup over the sausage when you order a sausage and pancakes breakfast.

I wouldn't know. I never eat at McDonald's if I can help it.

The skepticism - it is upon me!

I will go to a McDonald's if I'm travelling and need a quick breakfast that is easy to order, and when I do that I just get a Sausage McMuffin and hash browns, and I always end up regretting it. Thus I know how completely different this was than a Sausage McMuffin (although the regret was about the same).

I thought it was different over there. Because, like, the metric system.

yeah, but ... trademarks!

I don't know what they actually CALLED it, I just know what it was equivalent to.
