2005/08/24: Note

Although I enjoyed the three or so episodes of Daria that I saw like 10 years ago, and although Jen does probably have some personality traits in common with said fictional high school student (just like every other disaffected teenager on the planet), last I was aware, Daria did not take place in an abandoned hydroelectric dam.

Just thought I'd mention it.

(Anyway, if I'm ripping anything off, it's Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi.)

2005/08/19: Seriously, folks

The forum's there for your posting pleasure.

2005/08/10: FYI

I'm going to be out of town this weekend, which is why the buffer size is going to go down a bit. Oh no!

Not that anyone was going to notice that anyway. But, still.

2005/08/05: *tap* *tap*

Is this thing on?

2005/08/03: Explanations

Okay, so here's the deal. I tend to work in spurts, and I don't know what sort of output I'll be able to sustain. My last \regularly-updated webcomic (Eaveston) was a big case of burnout, so this time around I'm pacing myself. The pace I've settled on is one three-panel strip, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Or maybe just every other day, or something.

I'm also trying something totally different than anything else I've done before, and actually writing the story around a traditional panel-based comic setup, and with very deliberate pacing to the strips. This comic will actually be humorous, or at least it is to me.

The first couple of weeks are pretty slow and methodical, but I hope that you'll stick around for the characters to be established, because I really like the way it's already developed, even with the month's worth that I've already drawn. I also have a lot of story lines planned, and hopefully this comic will last for a long time.

One warning is that I may decide to change the strip update schedule based on my own free time. If the buffer gets too low, it'll probably drop to one or two times a week, and if the buffer gets high enough I might increase the number of updates. It all depends. For now the three-a-week pace feels a little slow but I'm comfortable with it.

Also, the name "Pernicious" isn't anything I'm planning on sticking with. It's just the first word which popped into my head when I set up the new weblog in MT. Feel free to come to the forum and make better suggestions.

2005/08/01: Pardon the dust

(Ah, sorry about that. Daylight Savings Saving Time strikes again.)

Not to be too cliché, but it might take a while for things to settle into place. (Both with the comic and with the site itself.)

Anyway, this is pretty simple. The comic is ↑, the slack time I have is ↓, and if you don't enjoy this comic, maybe you'll enjoy something over →.

Also, I design things for modern browsers . Things might look a bit wonky if you're running a browser whose name rhymes with "abhorrer."
