Guest art: Jazaaboo: Three cute pictures (2010/12/11)

Some brain bleach to try to make up for yesterday's gruesome comic. Right now, Jazaaboo (aka Anatotitan aka Tal-Pas Portaxx aka a bunch of other names) is doing cheap commissions for charity, and I decided to take her up on it for three pictures that I thought people might like to see! The one-sentence descriptions I gave her were, in order:

  1. Navi and Midna vie for Wind Waker Link's attention (and he is possibly confused as to who they are or sleeping under a tree or something)
  2. Vibri (from Vib-Ribbon) plays or is otherwise in the world of Bit.Trip.Beat
  3. fluffy (plaid critter) is doing a DJ set a'la Beatmania. Two turntables and keyboards and note event bars and a goofy video being projected overhead for a crowd to trance out to.

I think she did an excellent job (and really nice touch with the background image on Beatmania!), and you should have her do an excellent job of your ideas too! Especially since it's all for a good cause (helping out TheSpeedGamers to raise money for autism research and other good causes) and they're very cheap and you'll probably get them very very quickly and she'll have fun doing them and you'll have fun having them done and what are you waiting for? GO DO IT!

2010/12/06: RSS feed ads

I decided I didn't like how obtrusive some of the ads were in the RSS feed, and it's not like they were really getting me anything, so I've removed them. Let me know if you see anything broken etc. etc.

Although that's only for people who are using the direct RSS feed, rather than the FeedBurner feed. I actually would prefer if everyone just moved to the direct feed (http://beesbuzz.biz/d/rss.php). I'd discontinue the FeedBurner feed except that a lot of people still use that one, and FeedBurner/Google love themselves some lock-in and make it very difficult to transition people away gracefully (since it's not really in their best interests to lose all that potential advertising revenue from a comic that has all of 75 readers). I've turned down the ad obtrusiveness on FeedBurner as far as it will go but I don't see any way to disable the ads outright anymore.

If I do end up discontinuing the FeedBurner feed I'll be sure to let everyone know.
