Wrists

Dudes, dudettes, and dudes of varying and/or indeterminate gender,

I've been having a resurgence of my long-standing wrist problems lately, specifically that my carpal tunnel syndrome is back once again (unlike my long-standing tendon problems which have always been fairly cyclic for the last 12 years or so), and I don't want to leave people in a lurch again. So I would really really appreciate it if people would make guest comics and other such filler for a while while I figure out how to deal with this. I'll post pretty much anything people send, even.

Also, if someone wants to take over guest artist duty on Unity for a while, that would be even more awesome, although I'd prefer it be someone who can draw at least as good as I can (meaning the bar is low).

Love,
fluffy

I could totally do guest-artist stuff. My schedule's a bit silly but I surely could do one comic per week.

for reference: http://doberler.com/comic/

I'll try to hash out a guest strip in the next few days to try it out, see what you think, etc.

I don't want to get too cart-before-the-horse when it comes to long-term canon Unity plans (maybe I shouldn't have even mentioned it in the news post), but I'd definitely like to see how you handle my characters, as well as layout style and the like.

Mostly I'd love to get some non-canon guest strips (and it doesn't even have to be Unity). Journal, Womble, and Pernicious are definitely fair game, and I suppose Random would be too although I don't see the point in doing a guest Random strip.

I do have one more Unity mostly-inked and finishing it shouldn't be too big a deal. As usual it's my left wrist that's worse off (although both are affected) so it's more typing and gaming that's a problem for me right now.

Thanks. I did manage to finish the comic for Thursday (all that was left was the background and that doesn't take much work) and I think I'll still be able to manage to put something out in the meantime, but I still haven't gotten any guest art. Come on, folks, don't be shy!

The problem is mostly in my left wrist, which means that as far as art goes only coloring is really affected (since that involves a lot of tool switching), although I definitely need to take it easy on my right hand too (it's bad, just not AS bad).

I just saw the update! You shouldn't overdo it....why don't you try not typing or using keyboard too see how your wrist feels better?

Please don't reply to this too of course. Smile

Take care.

fffffffff, well, turns out I can't write for other people's characters without spazzing out, so no guest comic, sorry, but here is some fanart for you:

Aw, thanks! I would have preferred just getting them in email so I could schedule them for posting on the site at some point, but those are small enough that it'd probably make the most sense for them to just go up in a single update.

I rather like your takes on my characters. Nice and distinctive.
