200. Chandra/Kandra Testify

I would just like to point out that this is the 200th Unity strip. Back in #100 (which I see was almost exactly a year ago) I joked that I was planning on doing 155 more, and right now it looks like it's actually on track for that to be a possibility. Wouldn't it be great if I actually managed to make it exactly 255 long?

[[Juni re-enters the deposition pod]]
Juni: Sorry I'm late. I fell asleep, and then I ran into--
Chandra [on-screen]: I am rather confused as to why we were given a subpoena. The summary involved something we have no knowledge of.
Arbiter [voice]: The case focus has shifted somewhat.
Arbiter: You have been working with Dean General Tamu Haring, yes?
Chandra: Not "with" so much as "for." He had us analyze an ancient repository for information of scientific and historical importance.
Arbiter: And have you found any such information?
Chandra: Oh, goodness yes. The Homin were only a single species but they had an amazing diversity of culture. It can be quite difficult to understand them as a result... right now I am trying to piece together a timeline of the Ixcasidy Cultural Revision War.
Arbiter: I see. ANd how has the Dean General responded to this?
Chandra: So far he hasn't. He's been unwilling to notarize anything; the more I learn the less he believes. As a secondary plan I have been working with Kali Rosha to write a public-accessible rendition. They're a mainstream author, you see.
Arbiter: Yes, I am... familiar with Kali Rosha.
Kandra: Honk!
Juni [thinking]: That's what they're doing?

it's a bit tough on this one to determine who is speaking each bubble...

The fonts aren't enough? (I'd also hope that the Arbiter and Chandra speak differently enough that even that would be superfluous, but...)

What in particular is problematic? Since Juni is watching a two-way conversation in which only one of the parties is visible, it does make bubble layout a bit tricky, but I am of course not opposed to well-placed improvements to make things better.

I just rearranged stuff. Is that any better?

if the fonts are meant to disambiguate, they are not different enough on my monitor... however, between reading the next comic and the rearrangement i think the whole effect is better now, yes.
thanks!

Huh. Chandra speaks in Arial and the arbiter speaks in Minion Pro, which is a serif font. I have no idea how those could be confusing. Or was it Chandra vs. Juni (who speaks in Skia which is also sans-serif)?

Sure, but now that it's detangled and there have been no font changes in the interim I was thinking maybe you'd have a better idea of what the problem was before. I can't very well step back and forget the things that make it make sense. I can't un-see the cow (a phrase which is surprisingly self-descriptive once you know the context).

I mostly want to avoid making the same mistakes again in the future.
