Transcript

Juni: Where would I keep it?
Juni: [[inner non-voice]] Drawer?
Juni: Oh yeah, there it is.
Juni: Hi, Tamu, I'm sorry to wake you so early but something happened and now I can remember some things!
Tamu: Huh?
Tamu: Oh, uh... Like what, exactly?
Juni: Um... like how to call you on a data node, for a start.
Tamu: An excellent point. We should discuss this over caffeine, at our normal spot.
Juni: Chao's?
Tamu: Indeed. I'll meet you there in two kaysecs.

Yep. From my notes file:

TIME UNITS:
centi (100 seconds)
kaysec (1000 seconds, about 15 Earth minutes)
deci (10 kaysecs, about 2.75 Earth hours)
day (10 decis, about 28 Earth hours)
dec (5 days, cf week)
round (cf month - 5 decs/25 days)
tenround (cf year - 10 rounds - about 289 Earth days)

Also, the days of the dec are Onesday, Twosday, Threesday, Foursday, and Fivesday.

Similarly, Japanese names the months numerically.

Personally I thought I was just deriving the calendar system for a nontheistic society with no sun, moon, or deeply-ingrained religious etymology. And of course, I thought "Twosday" was funny.
