The fireplace work has finished, and conveniently today my firewood storage rack also arrived. The fellow recommended that I wait another 24 hours before lighting it up, though, as the cement needs time to cure.

I’m wondering what to do with the decorative logs that were left in the fireplace all this time. They were just like. Cutesy logs that were used as part of the home staging and got left behind.

I think these are them and the description says:

This is a natural product with zero chemical treatments or additives. This is a decorative product and not intended for burning, which could expose user to soot and carbon monoxide.

so I’m getting mixed messages here.

New store page

I finally got around to making a better store page. It’s still not great but it’s better than just linking to either my Threadless or Storenvy or whatever, and I’ll be able to backfill a bunch more of my items into it eventually.

There’s a lot of stuff I’d like to change of course, but this at least gives me a hook to setting up my own PayPal/Stripe/etc. cart as well.

Anyway I’m glad that Publ is in a state where it’s gotten easier and easier for me to make new sites from scratch with it. And I also released a new version of Publ with some shiny new features.

Prime Wardrobe: what the heck is the point?

So, I’ve been trying to find some nice dress shoes. I have pretty big feet for someone of my height and gender, so local shoe stores never actually have anything in my size in a style that I like. So, for this I still use Amazon, since I still have Prime for the next month or so anyway. (I do not plan on renewing after this year.)

One thing that Amazon keeps on pushing is Prime Wardrobe (affiliate link), where they heavily advertise that with a Prime membership you can now try-before-you-buy and have 7 days to decide which things to keep. Which is already a bit silly because with normal Prime you already have something like 30 days to return a thing you don’t want.
