February plans

Hey y'all! February is here! Oh gosh!

My big thing this month will be making as much music as I can for Strawberry Jam. February and November are my two big music-making months (November being when I do Novembeat normally, although this year it was taken up with other things).

I’m also hoping to do a second season of Transformative Meditations, also for Strawberry Jam.

I also have a couple of concerts lined up, one tomorrow and one next Friday.

Other public-facing TODO items (probably not for February):

  • I really want to redo the Bandcrash UI in something more maintainable/less janky than Qt. Originally I went with Qt with the thought that it’d have a data binding layer, but I ended up having to spend more effort writing a binding layer to its data binding layer than it would have been to just write my own data binding layer to begin with. So that’s silly.
  • I still really need to move Publ away from Pony and misaka.
  • And there’s that whole desire to make the comment system/webmention receiver/ActivityPub integration/whateverthefuck shit

Personal-life stuff:

  • I’m hosting someone who’s fleeing a red state for the next couple weeks which has me super distracted but we’re settling down into a decent rhythm now (hi Willow)
  • I still need to get around to replacing the failing security camera on my studio entrance, which would take me like 15 minutes to do, I just need to heckin' do it
  • My recording studio and dining room definitely need some cleaning up/reorganization
  • It’s pretty likely to snow this weekend, which means I’ll probably be stuck indoors for a few days, but I have plenty of food stocked up right now, mostly I worry that it’ll be harder for me to get to the recording studio if the driveway gets icy (which it usually does)
  • I also finally signed up for a Costco membership since they seem to be the only retailer worth supporting these days; so far I’ve just been getting stuff delivered but at some point I’m going to have to go there in person, which feels sketchy with my vestibular stuff,
  • and oh yeah I still need to contact the physical therapist to start the vestibular rehab
  • and I also have an appointment with my cardiologist next week because insurance is requiring that in order to keep getting my cholesterol medicine, as if chronic familiar hypercholesterolemia is going to just disappear or something

But aside from some mild sources of stress things are going pretty okay.
