Closer in history
>>> import datetime >>> apollo = datetime.datetime(1969,7,20,20,17) >>> delta = datetime.datetime.now() - apollo >>> apollo + delta / 2 datetime.datetime(1996, 10, 13, 20, 57, 7, 893840)
Anything that happened on or before October 13, 1996 is now closer in history to the Apollo 11 moon landing than it is to today.
Some examples:
- The release of the Nintendo 64 (September 29, 1996)
- The Macarena hitting #1 on the US Billboard Top 100 chart (August 3, 1996)
- The first episode of Judge Judy (September 6, 1996)
- The initial publication of A Game of Thrones (August 1, 1996)
- The Ramones' final show (August 6, 1996)
- Netscape 3.0 released (August 21, 1996)
- The launch of Fox News channel (October 7, 1996)
And, really soon, the release of the Spice Girls' debut album (November 4, 1996) will, too, be closer in history to the Apollo 11 moon landing than it is to today.
EDIT: I also just realized that this has long applied to the release of Beatles Anthology (November 20, 1995). The modern-day revival of The Beatles is now closer in history to when the Beatles were an active band than it is to today.
